Neil Walker hit a walk off single with two outs in the 9th inning to lift the New York Mets over the San Francisco Giants. Mets' pitcher Jacob deGrom pitched 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs, 4 hits, and 3 walks, striking out 11. The Giants scored off of home runs by Hunter Pence and Buster Posey. Giants starter Matt More tossed 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs, 7 hits, 1 walk, striking out 5.

The Giants sit at 11-22 after the loss, 10.0 games back of the NL West leading Colorado Rockies.

The Mets are now 15-16 after the win, still trailing the Washington Nationals by 5.5 games in the NL East.

The Mets will face the Giants again tomorrow at home at 4:10 p.m. PT.

Oakland A's second baseman Jed Lowrie belted his second home run of the game to give the A's a walk off win over the Los Angeles Angels. A's starter Kendall Graveman threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs on 7 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6. Angels pitcher Ricky Nolasco also threw 7.0 innings, allowing 2 runs, 5 hits, and 0 walks, while striking out 10. Luis Valbuena hit a two-run home run in the 1st inning for the Angels only runs of the game.

The Angels sit at 16-18 after the loss, 6.0 games back of the Houston Astros in the AL West.

The A's are now 15-17 with the win, tied with the Angels at 6.0 games back of the Astros.

The A's will take on the Angels again tomorrow at home at 7:05 p.m. PT.

Pirates 1

The Los Angeles Dodgers scored 6 runs in the 1st inning after a grand slam by Chris Taylor and a home run by Yasiel Puig. They never looked back as they scored 6 more times during the game to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 12-1. Dodgers slinger Alex Wood tossed 5.0 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 11. Pirates starter Trevor Williams took the loss after allowing 8 runs (6 earned) on 7 hits and 1 walk, striking out 2.

The Pirates sit at 14-18, last in the NL Central, though only 3.5 games behind the division leading St. Louis Cardinals.

The Dodgers are now 18-14, trailing the Colorado Rockies by only 2.5 games in the NL West.

The Dodgers will play the Pirates again tomorrow at home at 7:10 p.m. PT.

Orioles 6

Joey Rickard, Mark Trumbo, and Trey Mancini all homered in the 1st inning to give the Baltimore Orioles a 4-0 lead over the Washington Nationals. The O's scored twice more in the 4th inning, before falling silent for the rest of the game. The Nationals slowly chipped away at their lead scoring once in each the 5th, 6th, 8th, and 9th inning, falling two runs short of a full comeback. O's starter Kevin Gausman pitched 7.0 innings and allowed 2 runs off of 5 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8. Nat's pitcher Gio Gonzalez tossed 6.0 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 2.

The Nationals sit at 21-11, still at the top of the NL East by 5.0 games over the next closest team, the Mets.

The Orioles are now 21-10, only 0.5 a game back of the AL East leading New York Yankees.

The Nationals will face the Orioles again tomorrow in Baltimore at 4:05 p.m. PT.

Indians 2

Marcus Stroman pitched 6.0 shutout innings as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Indians in Edwin Encarnacion's return to Toronto. Stroman allowed 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 1. For the Indians, Trevor Bauer tossed 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 6. Justin Smoak and Ryan Goins led the Blue Jays with 2 RBIs each.

The Indians are now 17-14, on top of the AL Central by 1.0 game.

The Blue Jays sit at 12-20, last in the AL East, 10.5 games behind the Orioles.

The Blue Jays will face the Indians again tomorrow at 4:07 p.m. PT.

The Kansas City Royals scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning and tacked on 4 more through the 7th inning. The Tampa Bay Rays could not catch up. Rays' pitcher threw 5.0 innings, allowing 4 runs, 10 hits, 1 walk, while striking out 2. Royals' starter Nate Karns tossed 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 10.

The Royals are now 11-20, last in the AL Central, 5 games behind the Indians.

The Rays sit at 16-18, 4th in the AL East, 6.5 games behind the Orioles.

The Royals will take on the Rays at 4:10 p.m. tomorrow in Tampa Bay.

The New York Yankees beat the Cincinnati Reds 10-4 in inter-league play. Yankees slinger Masahiro Tanaka threw 7.0 strong innings- striking out 6, while allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits and 1 walk. Reds starter Rookie Davis pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits and 3 walks, with 4 strikeouts.

The Yankees sit at 21-9, tied with the Orioles atop the AL East.

The Reds sit at 17-15 after the loss, 0.5 games behind the Cardinals.

The Yankees will face the Reds again tomorrow at 4:10 p.m. PT in Cincinnati.

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez tossed 6.0 solid innings while leading the team with 4 RBIs in their 9-4 win over the Miami Marlins. Martinez allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7. Marlins starter Adam Conley lasted only 3.2 innings, allowing 7 runs, 6 hits, and 3 walks, while striking out 2.

The Cardinals are now 17-14 after the win, 0.5 games ahead of the Reds in the NL Central.

The Marlins sit at 13-18, fourth in the NL East, 7.5 games behind the Nationals.

The Cardinals will face the Marlins again tomorrow at 4:10 p.m. PT in Miami.

Cory Spangenberg, Ryan Schimpf and Austin Hedges all hit solo home runs to lead the San Diego Padres over the Texas Rangers in inter-league play. Padres starter Trevor Cahill threw 5.1 shutout innings only allowing 1 hit while striking out 7, although giving up 5 walks. Rangers pitcher Nick Martinez threw 6.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits and 1 walk, striking out 4.

Both teams now sit at 13-20. The Padres are 4th in the NL West, 8.0 games behind the Rockies. The Rangers are last in the AL West, 8.5 games behind the Astros.

The Rangers will play the Padres again tomorrow at 12:40 p.m. PT in San Diego.

The Cubs-Rockies game was postponed due to rain.
