The San Francisco Giants scored 4 runs in the 9th to comeback and beat the New York Mets. The Mets led 3-2 going into the 9th and even countered with 2 of their own runs in the 9th, but fell short, losing 6-5. This 4 run rally came courtesy of a Hunter Pence single and a Christian Arroyo double that plated 3.

Matt Cain tossed 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned), on 2 hits and 2 walks, striking out 3. Mets' starter Tommy Milone threw 5.0 innings as well, allowing  2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, striking out 5.  Mets' closer Jeurys Familia blew the save in his 3rd straight outing.

The Giants are now 12-23, still last in the NL West, 10.0 games behind the Rockies. They will travel back home to play the Cincinnati Reds tomorrow at 7:15 p.m. PT.

The Mets are now 16-17, 5.0 games behind the leading Nationals in the NL East. T
hey will have an off day before travelling to Milwaukee to face the Brewers at 5:10 p.m. PT on Friday.

Cubs 0

German Marquez took a no hitter into the 6th inning before Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs broke it up with a double. Marquez pitched through the 8th inning as the Colorado Rockies shutout the cubs 3-0. Marquez also plated two runs with a single in the 7th inning. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 8. For the Cubs, starter Kyle Hendricks tossed 6.1 innings, giving up 3 runs (2 earned), on 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 7.

The Cubs fall to .500 at 17-17, 4th place in the NL Central, 2.0  games behind the Cardinals. The Cubs will face the Cardinals in St. Louis on Friday at 5:15 p.m. PT.

The Rockies climb to 22-13, increasing their lead to 2.0 games over the Dodgers at the top of the NL West. The Rockies will face the Dodgers at home tomorrow at 5:40 p.m. PT.

Braves 2

The Houston Astros capitalized off of a 3-run 5th inning to beat the Atlanta Braves 4-2 in Houston. Carlos Correa led the Astros with 2 RBIs. Astros pitcher Joe Musgrove had a solid outing, going 6.0 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 4. On the other side, Braves starter Jaime Garcia struggled with control as he tossed 6.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 5 walks, while striking out 4.

The Braves sit at 11-20 after the loss, last in the NL East, 9.0 games behind the division leading Nationals. The Braves will travel to Miami to face the division foe Marlins on Friday at 4:10 p.m. PT.

The Astros move up to 23-11, with the current best record in baseball, leading the AL West by 6.0 games over the 2nd place Mariners. The Astros will fly to New York tomorrow to play the equally hot Yankees at 4:05 p.m. PT.

Angels 1

Chad Pinder hit a 2-run homer that gave Oakland A's a lead they never surrendered as they beat the Los Angeles Angels 3-1. A's pitcher Andrew Tiggs tossed 6.0 innings allowing only 1 run on 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 4. Angels starter Jesse Chavez lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5. Santiago Casilla recorded his 6th save of the season as he struck out 2 in the 9th.

The Angels fall to 17-19, tied with Oakland for 3rd in the AL West. Both teams are 7.0 games behind the Astros.

The Angels will go home to play the Detroit Tigers tomorrow at 7:07 p.m. PT.

The A's will have an off day tomorrow before travelling to Arlington to play the Texas Rangers Friday at 5:05 p.m. PT.

Mariners 11

The Mariners offense lit up Zach Eflin and the Phillies bullpen for 11 runs on 16 hits. Both Robinson Cano and Danny Valencia racked up 4 hits each. Mariners pitcher Yovani Gallardo tossed 5.0 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks, striking out only 1. Phillies starter Elfin lasted 6.0 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk, striking out 5. Phillies reliever Joaquin Benoit took most of the damage, only recording 1 out, allowing 5 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks.

The Mariners moved up to a .500 record at 17-17, 2nd in the AL West, 6 games behind the Astros.

The Phillies sit at 13-19 after the loss, 4th in the NL East, 7.5 games behind the Nationals.


Orioles 6

Matt Wieters hit a walk-off single that plated 2 and completed the Washington Nationals comeback over his former team, the Baltimore Orioles, in the 9th inning. Jayson Werth homered in the 9th for the Nat's as did Michael Taylor in the 8th. For the Orioles, Mark Trumbo and Manny Machado went deep in the 5th and 7th innings respectively.

Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg tossed 6.0 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks, striking out 9. Orioles pitcher Wade Miley lasted 5.0 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 5. The Orioles led 6-2 going into the 8th inning before the Nat's scored 5 in the last couple innings.

The Orioles sit at 22-11 after the loss, tied for 1st in the AL East with the Yankees.

The Nationals improve to 22-12, increasing their lead atop the NL East to 5.5 games over the closest team, the Mets.

The Orioles will face the Nationals again tomorrow in Washington at 4:05 p.m. PT, concluding their 4 game series.

Blue Jays 8

Ryan Goins delivered a walk-off single in the 9th inning to lift the Toronto Blue Jays over the Cleveland Indians 8-7. Goins had 3 hits and 2 RBIs on the night. Blue Jays starter  Francisco Liriano lasted only 2.0 innings, allowing 7 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks, with no strikeouts. Indians pitcher Danny Salazar also didn't last long in the game, going 2.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks.

The Indians fall to 18-15, cutting their lead in the AL Central to 0.5 a game over the Twins. The Indians have an off day before going home to face the Twins on Friday at 4:10 p.m. PT.

The Blue Jays are now 13-21, still last in the AL East, trailing the Yankees by 9.5 games. They will stay at home to face the Mariners tomorrow at 4:07 p.m. PT.

The Tampa Bay Rays offense exploded on Kansan City Royals pitching, notching 16 hits including Colby Rasmus' 6th career grand slam. Staff ace Chris Archer was masterful as he tossed 8.0 shutout innings, allowing 5 hits but no walks, while striking out 11.For the Royals, starter Jason Hammel threw 7.0 innings, allowing 7 runs (6 earned) on 13 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6.

The Royals sit at 12-21, last in the AL Central, 6.0 games behind the Indians.

The Rays improve to 17-19 after the win, 4th in the AL East, 6.5 games behind the Yankees.

The Royals will finish their 3-game series in Tampa Bay tomorrow at 10:10 a.m. PT.

Cardinals 7

The St. Louis Cardinals notched a second straight comeback win over the Miami Marlins. Both nights they were down by 4 runs. Cardinals starter Lance Lynn went 4.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and 4 walks, while striking out 5. Marlins pitcher Tom Koehler struck out the side in the first, before allowing 4 runs on 5 hits and 2 walks in 5.1 innings pitched.

The Cardinals improve to 19-14, leading the NL Central by 1.0 game over the Reds.

The Marlins fall to 13-20 after the loss, 4th in the NL East, 8.5 games back of the Nationals.

Both teams will have an off day tomorrow. The Cardinals will go home to face the Cubs on Friday at 5:15 p.m. PT. The Marlins will stay at home to face the Braves at 4:10 p.m. PT.

Padres 3

The Texas Rangers beat the Sand Diego Padres by scoring 3 runs on a wild pitch, a balk, and a throwing error. Shin-Soo Choo hit the Rangers only RBI of the night. Rangers ace Yu Darvish went 6.0 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and no walks, while striking out 6. Padres starter Luis Perdomo had similar numbers, going 6.0 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits amd 4 walks, while striking out 7. For the Padres, Wil Myers hit his 8th homer of the season and Erick Aybar hit his 4th homer.

The Padres move down to 13-22 after the loss, 4th in the NL West, 9.0 games behind the Rockies.

The Rangers are now 15-20, last in the AL West, 8.5 games behind the Astros.

The Padres will face the Rangers again tomorrow at 5:05 p.m. PT in Arlington.

Red Sox 4

The Milwaukee Brewers capitalized on a 4 run 5th inning to beat the Boston Red Sox 7-4. For the Brewers, 5 hitters notched a multiple hit game. Brewers starter Chase Anderson lasted 4.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 4. Red Sox pitcher Kyle Kendrick went 4.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 2. For the Red Sox, Jackie Bradley Jr. hit his 2nd homer of the season.

The Red Sox stay just above .500, at 17-16, 3rd in the AL East, 5.0 games behind the Yankees.

The Brewers improve to 18-16 after the win, 3rd in the NL Central, 1.5 games behind the Cardinals.

The Red Sox will wrap up their series with the Brewers tomorrow at 10:10 a.m. PT in Milwaukee.

The Arizona Diamondbacks rode homers by Nick Ahmed, Yasmany Tomas and Brandon Drury, to beat the Detroit Tigers 7-1 and split the series. D-backs pitcher Zack Godley tossed 7.0 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 1 walk, while striking out 6. Tigers starter Matthew Boyd went 6.0 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 6.

The Tigers fall to 16-16 after the loss, 3rd in the AL Central, 1.5 games behind the Indians. The Tigers will travel to Anaheim to face the Angels at 7:07 p.m. PT tomorrow.

The D-backs improve to 19-16, 3rd in the NL West, 3.0 games back of the Rockies. The D-backs will stay at home to face the Pirates tomorrow at 6:40 p.m. PT. It will be a pitchers duel as Zack Greinke takes on Gerrit Cole.

Pirates 2

Kenta Maeda took a shutout into the 9th inning, before Francisco Cervelli of the Pittsburgh Pirates hit a 2-run homer. With the win, the Los Angeles Dodgers swept the Pirates and increased their win streak to 5. This would have been Maeda's first big league shutout. He went 8.1 innings overall, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and no walks, while striking out 5. For the Pirates, starter Chad Kuhl allowed 4 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4.

The Pirates are now 14-20, last in the NL Central, 5.5 games behind the Cardinals. The Pirates will continue their road trip in Phoenix, taking on the D-backs tomorrow at 6:40 p.m. PT.

The Dodgers improve to 20-14 but remain 1.5 games behind the Rockies, currently 2nd in the NL West. They will look to close that gap as they begin their series in Colorado tomorrow at 5:40 p.m. PT.

The Minnesota Twins-Chicago White Sox game was postponed due to rain.
